The Apartment at Syleham House
This lovely apartment on the top floor of a large Georgian miller's house offers spacious accommodation with 2 acres of riverside garden and an orchard to wander through. There is direct access to long walks along the river Waveney on the Angles Way and through the gently undulating country of the Upper Waveney Valley. A year round perfect retreat for peace and private fishing, nature and bird watching - we have recently spotted a pair of Kingfishers - a wonderful sight for children. The apartment is newly refurbished but is in sympathy with the history of the house and has its own entrance up an attractive and wide wrought iron staircase. The kitchen door is gabled and lets the sun pour in. Inside there is an open fire, a comfy sofa, armchairs and a gate leg oak table for 6. The master bedroom is large with a double bed and a sofa bed. The twin bedroom has beautiful views of the river. The bathroom is clean and bright with a shower over the bath. There is a large walk-in cupboard for wellies etc. Outdoor activities

| Location
The property stretch of private water [about 150 metres] on a weir, yielding chub, perch, carp, tench and pike. Ideal for sport fishing. There is an angling shop in Harleston and day fishing on Waveney Valley Lake. Bressingham Steam Museum is a 15 minute drive away and Banham Zoo around 35 minutes. Both brilliant days out for children. The Otter Trust 6 miles [visiting otters in our river!] Antique finds, farmers markets and wonderful shopping in the nearby towns of Eye, Bungay and Harleston [where you'll find, amongst others, a very good Japanese restaurant]. There are some excellent local potters, for instance Lars Soendergaard Gregersen, who designs for Nicole Farhi, and Jean Knowles. Direct trains 90 min's from Liverpool Street to nearby Diss every 1/2 hour. Booking Terms: Click here to view full booking and hire conditions.
