Loch Tay House

A superb location, in beautiful countryside, with lovely views of loch and hills. A spacious, luxurious, detached house, in its own private and secluded gardens, well equipped even down to its own full size sauna. Plenty for all the family to do, with riding and sailing, archery, mountain biking, salmon and trout fishing on site; golf within a five minute drive.

A four star restaurant also within a couple of minutes walk. Well placed for touring in all four directions, with lots to see and do within easy distance.

Loch Tay House is a magnificently sited property on Loch Tayside, looking straight down on to the marina, and just a five minute drive from the pretty Highland Perthshire town of Killin.

This stylish modern house is built on the 'upside down' principle, the better to enjoy the stunning views from its balconies and the glass walled public rooms upstairs. Downstairs there are four bedrooms, three with private facilities (the sauna is accessed from the bathroom in the master bedroom and is paid by meter), a utility room and a further bathroom. Upstairs, there is a huge and fabulous sitting room, with open fire, which runs the entire length of the house, dining room and kitchen, a 'snug' or television room, and a further double bedroom with shower.

The house is built on a plateau overlooking the loch, with terraced grounds to the front, with palm trees, furniture and summer house. A path leading down through the gardens gives access to the loch - the house has been cleverly positioned so that the holiday chalets away down beneath it, are completely hidden from its windows and gardens.

There is ready access to the marina with its watersports, riding just up the hill, golf at Killin (or at Taymouth Castle in the picturesque village of Kenmore at the other end of the loch.)

There is walking in the surrounding hills to suit all ranges of fitness and ability, from the peaks of Schiehallion, Ben Lawers and Ben Chonzie to peaceful woodland strolls. Loch Earn (more water sports), Oban and the west coast, Callander and the Trossachs, Tummel and Loch Rannoch, Pitlochry, with its famous Festival Theatre, are all within an easy drive, for here you are in the very centre of Scotland.

Bed linen, heating and electricity are all included in the rental. Towels may be hired. Sorry, no pets. A refundable householder's deposit will be required on arrival.
