This 150 year old cottage is situated at Trevor Wharf, just 50 yards from Thomas Telford's magnificent 126' high world-famous Pontcysyllte Aqueduct which carries the Llangollen Canal over the River Dee, also known as the 'stream in the sky'

Dock House is a delightful 150 year old detached cottage situated at Trevor Wharf. The warm and comfortable cottage has fields on two sides and faces the canal wharf, from where guests can hire a day-boat for a memorable voyage across the aqueduct or through the beautiful Vale of Llangollen into the town itself, only 4 miles away. An ideal base for exploring this fascinating area by car, walking or by bike.


Location

The area is renowned for it's excellent walking & cycling (for all abilities), and those who simply want to unwind, there are many pretty villages to explore and many a fine country pub!

The historic city of Chester and it's attractions is only 25 miles away and Snowdonia is about an hour's drive.

The pretty town of Llangollen is only 4 miles away and offers a good range of pubs and restaurants as well as many interesting shops - the steam railway there is always a favourite.

The beautiful Vale of Llangollen, with its dramatic mountain backdrop and boulder-strewn River Dee, is the setting for this pretty tourist town of Trevor, internationally famous for its Musical Eisteddfod.

Explore the green valley by steam train or canal boat, or take an exhilarating walk up to Castell Dinas Bran, high above the town, to enjoy the breathtaking view.

The National Trust properties of Chirk Castle and Erddig are within easy driving distance, while a day-long car trail can take you to visit six of the 'Seven Wonders of Wales'.

Offa's Dyke Path passes nearby and offers pleasant walking along the crest of the Clwyd hills, whilst Snowdonia is less than an hour's drive away.
